Spice Bag


Fakeaway Spice Bag (serves 2)

Now if you’ve ever been to the emerald isle then you will have come across this incredible takeaway dish. In this recipe I’m cooking this banging Spice Bag. I like to serve mine with curry sauce on the side.


  • 400g shop bought frozen chips
  • 200g frozen popcorn chicken nuggets
  • ½ red pepper diced
  • ½ green pepper deseeded and diced
  • ½ onion diced
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. Chinese 5 spice
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. chilli powder to taste
  • 1 tsp. salt


  1. Set your air fryer to 180c. Scatter the frozen chips into the drawer then cook for 12 minutes, shaking a couple of times throughout the cook. Add in the popcorn chicken and cook for further 10 minutes until golden.
  2. Meanwhile, add a splash of oil into a hot wok or pan, then stir fry the peppers and onions for 2 to 3 minutes. Add in the chips and popcorn chicken, then scatter over the spices and cook for further minute, season well with salt. Serve up with a portion of curry sauce.
